The British government is set to progress with utilizing the entire amount of seized Russian assets to support Ukraine's military campaign, PM Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a joint statement, the officials of the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and Germany emphasized that this joint measure would heighten pressure on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and urge Russia to participate in talks.

They added that the initiative would be carried out in tight collaboration with the US.

United Kingdom sanctions have blocked more than £25bn of Russian resources since Moscow launched its comprehensive attack against Ukraine in 2022. But, up to this point, resources sent to Ukraine using Russia's funds had exclusively been drawn from earnings and returns accrued on them.

Sir Keir told Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, France, and Germany were united in their aim to drive progress toward employing the full value of the seized Russian sovereign funds to conclude the conflict.

He noted that further restrictions soon would increase the strain on Moscow.

This declaration follows EU leaders met in the Danish capital previously to debate utilizing frozen Russian funds for a 140-billion-euro financial aid to the Ukrainian nation.

Recently, American leader Donald Trump encouraged international partners to take or employ immobilized Russian assets, based on news outlets.

The total of seized Russian assets in the Europe is calculated to be almost €211bn.
