The Lionesses face China – Women’s Exhibition Match
Preamble
Welcome everyone to the non-competitive game between England and China at Wembley Stadium. The match is set to be a thriller with the current Euro titleholders facing the holders of the Asian Cup title.
England’s national stadium is packed for the event, which will see Fran Kirby recognized pre-match after her international retirement before the European Championship this past summer.
The team news will be announced shortly, but there was a late squad update for England. On Friday, the goalkeeper Khiara Keating withdrew from the squad with a small issue, and so former number one Ellie Roebuck has been called up.
With Hannah Hampton unavailable, it will be interesting to see who head coach Sarina Wiegman selects in goal. Those details along with further updates are incoming before kick-off at 5:30 in the evening GMT.
Lineup Announcements
The team news is in. Anna Moorhouse starts in goal for England in the unavailability of Hannah Hampton and Khiara Keating.
The Lionesses: Moorhouse, Bronze, Charles, Walsh, Le Tissier, Morgan, Mead, Stanway, Russo, Toone, Hemp.
Substitutes: Hings, Baggaley, Kendall, Wubben-Moy, Beever-Jones, Kelly, Kearns, Park, Blindkilde Brown, Roebuck, Clinton, Denton, Fisk, Godfrey.
We are awaiting the squad from China now; once it is available, I will post it.
Leadership Role

The upcoming fixture will be Anna Moorhouse's first appearance for England. She belonged to the Euros team who claimed victory this past summer, but she did not feature with Hannah Hampton in the first-choice keeper position.
