BF6 Gamers Agree: Tasks Are Excessively Difficult
The release of the eagerly awaited Battlefield 6 garnered broad praise, particularly for its flagship multiplayer mode. On Steam alone, concurrent player counts surged to nearly 750,000. However, despite its popularity, a growing number of players are voicing discontent with several of the title's most difficult challenges, which are mandatory to access certain guns.
Players have started using personalized games set up using the custom game tool to achieve these objectives, emphasizing just how grueling these assignments have become.
Understanding BF6 Assignments
Assignments are Battlefield 6's ongoing multiplayer objectives, different from the frequently updated daily and weekly challenges. It features four classes of assignments, but where most simply offer skins and a few gadgets, finishing the gun missions is the exclusive means of obtaining a dozen out of forty-one main guns present in the game.
Several of these locked weapons could shortly make their appearance on lists of the best guns in Battlefield 6.
Player Outcry via Reddit
Within Reddit, players are reasonably expressing their worries about how challenging and repetitive some of these challenges are. A particular gamer emphasized one of the most egregious examples, mandatory for acquiring the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Subdue 300 opponents with LMGs
- Inflict 10,000 hipfire damage with LMGs
"This task is so terrible and totally unreasonable, I want to scream in frustration," is a quote that summarizes just how frustratingly difficult these tasks are.
Suppression in Battlefield is weaker than it's ever been in the series, so it has significantly fewer benefits in combat as it used to in previous games. It only counts as suppression if you miss multiple shots in a row.
Meanwhile, using an LMG from the hip is highly imprecise and functions solely at point-blank proximity, which is not usually a position you prefer to be. The same user also highlighted the irony in the SMG challenge, to unlock the SCW-10, which needs takedowns using ADS, when that mission would be much better suited to hipfire kills, and vice versa.
Another Ridiculously Tough Task
Another Reddit user pointed out an additional excessively hard challenge, this time in the marksman rifle class to access the PSR:
- Achieve 150 headshot eliminations over 200m with sniper rifles
This is tough enough on its own, but there's an additional crucial factor to consider: many Battlefield 6 maps fail to facilitate combat at those extended distances.
There exists a reasonable assortment of map sizes, but because there are just nine levels in the game right now, it implies you must stick to playing one of the larger locales, a particular valley environment, and maybe Operation Firestorm if you're lucky if you want to snipe from a significant distance.
The Alternative Method
However, there is a solution: the custom game tool. This portal feature is a tool that allows you to make custom game modes on the battleground of your choice, complete with bots. This implies you can bypass the intended method… but it doesn't exactly feel like the intended gameplay experience.
However, when completing the missions in a standard match seems counterproductive, since you have to play in such an atypical style that offers no advantage to anyone, is it surprising for finishing these in a personal session so squad members are not disadvantaged?
Upcoming Tweaks
It is expected if several of these tasks are made easier in the coming days or weeks, because should they remain unchanged, a portion of the user base simply are unlikely to obtain the gated weapons.
Currently, the audience continues to share their thoughts on these strenuous in-game tasks, expecting a fairer gaming experience in future updates.
